You have seen the images in magazines and on TV. Celebrities who have closets the size of an apartment. Everything about them makes a girl’s heart skip a beat. Mirrored dressers, chandeliers, plush seating…let’s not even start on Aerin Lauder’s closet! Then comes the jealousy. Don’t be jealous, girls. We’re going to help you have some of sparkle too! Let’s resuscitate that heart of yours.

We asked high end closet designer, Lisa Adams of LA Closet Design, to share some creative tips on how any woman can add luxury to her closet space. Lisa’s work is truly high end and her designs are masterpieces. What do we love most? Lisa had great advice for us girls who have smaller spaces and smaller budgets but big dreams for our closets. Thank you, Lisa!

If you are looking for more closet tips, keep checking in with us, this won’t be the last time you see Lisa on Via Los Angeles!

Lisa’s Advice:

Add crown and base moulding strips. Lisa explained to us that this simple step really elevates the closet and makes it feel custom.

Take your existing drawers and change the face and the handle. If you’re renting, this is a great idea because you won’t be making any permanent alterations. This is a great way to add your own personality. You can try a crystal knob for extreme luxury.

The inside of drawers can be a huge mess. Organization is the key here. Add fabric to the inside of your drawers. You can also use drawer inserts to distinguish what should go where. Just going with the standard insert is enough but if you want to go further and have a bigger budget, you can add glass or cedar inserts.

Most closets usually have a cheap, white hanging rod. Switch that baby out for an oil rubbed bronze or polished chrome rod. This will add life and sparkle.

If you have an empty wall in your closet, this is a great opportunity. You can add panels to match your moulding, art work, a mirror or pretty hooks. Hooks can be used to hang purses and jewelry. Showcase your favorites!
