Sugar Legs
No, it’s not a cat call from across the street…it’s an alternative to waxing that you can do from home. Sugaring is a form of epilation that dates back to ancient Egypt. The best part is, you probably have most of the ingredients at home: sugar, water, lemon. Caution: The outer edges of the sugar will cool first but the middle usually stays very hot! Be extremely careful. We burned ourselves the first time!

Instructions on how to use
Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment
Ingredients:
Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Eggs
Mayonnaise
Honey
Method:
1. Rinse
Start out with an apple cider vinegar rinse. Make sure that for however much apple cider vinegar you use, you use about three times as much water. After shampooing, apply to hair, leave on for 2 minutes and get it all out with water.
2. Deep conditioner
Crack two eggs in a bowl and mix. Add about 6 tablespoons of mayonnaise and mix it all together. If you want extra moisture and shine, you can add a teaspoon of honey.
Coat your entire head with deep conditioner. This is a very thick mixture but you want to saturate your hair. Put on a shower cap and leave it on for 45 minutes. When you are done, rinse and apply your normal conditioner if desired. Make sure to get it all out!
Ingredients:
1 cup plain yogurt
1/2 mashed banana or avocado
1/4 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon olive oil
Method:
Combine all ingredients well. Scoop out approximately 1/4 cup and apply all over face with a soft, circular motion. Rub into skin for at least one minute. Rinse well with cool (not cold) water. Gently pat dry with a soft cloth. Store unused cleanser in the refrigerator for up to seven days.
Depending on which ingredients you have in the house, you can pick one of these two body scrubs. Get all that dead skin off and glow when you’re spa day is over!
Orange scrub
Ingredients:
1/2 of an Orange
4 T Cornmeal
Method:
Squeeze orange juice and pulp into a bowl and add the cornmeal. Mix into a paste.
Mediterranean scrub
Ingredients:
1/3 cup of sea salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
A few drops essential oils optional
Method:
Mix ingredients together in a jar for storing.
To Use: Apply onto freshly washed body. The water will make your skin soft. Scrub gently for 2-3 minutes. Rinse!
1. Remove old polish. We recommend a non-acetone remover. It will make you cough just as much as the good ol’ regular kind so make sure there is ventilation.
2. File nails either round or square. Short nails that are square in shape with rounded edges are modern and low maintenance. Always file in one direction starting from the edges and move towards the center.
3. Soak nails warm, slightly soapy water. Make sure water isn’t too hot or it will dry out your nails and fingers.
4. Use cuticle cream (or a couple drops of olive oil) to nails for moisture. Rub it into the cuticles.
5. Push back the cuticles with an orange wood stick. You can find these in a drugstore or beauty supply. We don’t recommend cutting the cuticle, especially since you will have to use you non-writing hand. Leave that to a professional. It can cause infection.
6. For extra moisture, massage hands with a hand lotion.
7. Wipe nails dry with a damp cloth to remove excess oil.
8. Apply a base coat and let dry for about a minute.
9. Applying color can be tricky so try this method: apply polish to the sides of the nail first and then to the middle. Aim to cover the nail with three strokes.
10. Apply a clear top coat.
11. If you get any polish on your skin, wait for your nails to dry and then drip the edge of your orange wood stick into polish remover and swipe away the excess.
